The short version: your address is none of our business. Last updated 19 August 2026.
1 · Your location never leaves your device
Your home coordinates and boundary are stored on your phone only, and every distance check runs on-device. They never appear in a network request, a log line, an analytics event or a database. There is no server holding your location.
2 · Sign-in, kept minimal
You sign in with Apple or Google so your streak can survive a new phone. We hold an anonymous identifier and, if you allow it, your email — Apple’s Hide My Email works fine. No passwords, no profile building.
3 · What we collect
Your streak history (dates and out-the-door times — never where the door is) and standard App Store analytics if you’ve opted in to sharing them with developers via Apple. No ad trackers, no third-party analytics SDKs.
4 · Permissions, plainly
Location: to check your distance from the boundary around your alarm window — nothing runs all night. Alarms: so the phone can ring with the app closed. Notifications: streak warnings only. Each one is asked for in context and works as described or not at all.
5 · Deleting your data
Delete your account in the app (Account → Delete Account) and your profile and streak history are erased permanently. Or email
privacy@mrning.app and we’ll do it for you. You have the full set of GDPR and UK GDPR rights — access, correction, erasure and portability.
